I know the Logitech 680 comes with a built in decoder.... Are there any other 5.1(or higher) sets that come with a built in decoder?

The Z680's are probably your best bet as far as 5.1 multimedia speakers w/ built in decoders go. There are some other options but they don't perform nearly as well
- Logitech Z680 does Dolby Digital and DTS decoding (62W satellites, 69W center, 188W Subwoofer)
- Yamaha TSS1 does Dolby Digital and DTS decoding (6W satellites, 18W Subwoofer)
- Jazz J9941B does Dolby Digital and DTS decoding (10W satellites, 50W Subwoofer)
- Creative Inspire Digital 5700 Dolby Digital and DTS decoding (71W)
Or alternately you could buy an external decoder box and connect it to your analog, powered 5.1 speaker system <cough>Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultra</cough>
- Klipsch Promedia DD-5.1 Decoder does Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, and Pro Logic upmixing. Has the most inputs.
- Creative DDTS-100 Decoder does Dolby Digital.EX and DTS.ES decoding, and Pro Logic II and Neo6 upmixing. Has the newest decoders.
I know there I remember seeing more sets, but I had all of these bookmarked

Just google if u want to find more...My super old ADA880Rs do it... which I'm still using it now. However, it's only 4.1.
I'd spend the money to get a digital HT receiver... and start building the setup with bookshelves It's expensive though...

KevC - Thanks for the advice, I am looking for something a wee bit cheaper though, that is why I am looking for a complete system. And yes, Marlowe's play is where I got my name. It was hands down my favorite Renaissance play. I have been using it as a nick/game name for probably 12 years now.

They don't totally suck but they don't have shit on klipsch or logitech.
You should go to best buy or some local store to hear them for yourself, then order online.
Those 5.1s look like they have the same sub as mine so don't expect much.
Yeah I figured you were looking for something cheaper than those logitechs. I have some creative 2.1 that cost like 40 bucks and I only bought them to save space because I moved back home for the summer and have no space for my ht. My room at home is now my moms office also so it's 2 desks crammed in a 10x10 room.
Anyways, to thier quality...at normal levels they sound good enough. Decent highs and mids but the sub kinda sucks if you're used to a lot of bass(like from the logitechs or klipschs) which I am used to. I have the bass turned down pretty low that way all the port noise doesn't bug the hell out of me. For the price I didn't expect much but they are decnet little speakers.

I will vote with my wallet.
