I've been out of the DC arena for too long. I've been working off of a laptop at home for a couple of years and didnt want to bake it prematurely. I dont have that lappy anymore so now I'm building two boxes, one of which will be a full time folder, the other will fold on a part-time basis.

I'd like to say it's good to be back, but I never really left. ;)

You have a ways before you catch up to me. And unless those are dual quad boxen, you're going to need a bit more than that. :D

Glad to hear you've caught the addiction again. It won't be long before you're going to be watering the garden again.

Every little bit helps, unless you have big plans and then we better change our pants cause it has been stained by few already ;)

Jon, I know every little bit helps. :) I've been folding almost as long as I've been on this forum.

Smokey, just those two for now. 3.4 @ maybe 3.6/3.8 and a 775 of some sort if I can find it cheap. The freebie 775 board I have is an early version and I'm not certain if a dual/quad will work. I suppose I should check hehe. I was just going to put in a cheap something and get it to work.

Oh, do we need to water the garden ? What fertilizer to use ??

:D

I reckon the fish fertilizer works well for the Indians when they planted the corn seeds with the pilgrims. What do ya think?

I used water and just a good loamy soil with a touch of bull manure. hehe.

Ok, it's noted... Now to find some bull manure but would goat manure be better ?

Wouldnt hurt. You can clearly see that my technique works well on desktop's. Towers may needs something different. :D

Mojo for watering and goat manure for fertilizing should make the boxens more productive :)

Redshred and I go back a long way.
I swear he had "[H]ardfolding" tatooed on his chest.

It's so damn good to see him here again. :D

The rumor that BillR likes to butt-farq male goats is only a rumor....
Pictures are $25 each for 4x6s or $35 for 8X10s.
Video is $100.

Got any small clip of it before I can buy the video? I would like to know what I'm getting into

Hello Mr. Shred, I'm digital_exhaust.

I'm new here and I don't think we have met yet:)

I'm glad you decided to come back to the [H]orde, I look forward to getting to know you. I see that you have produced around 175k, so I'll be sure and save you a spot on my threat list as I don't have any mojo, and I'm all out of goat poo.. I sort of specialize in getting run over around here lately sooooo;)

Anyhow, nice to have you here.. Fold [H]ard!!

Ya --- that was pretty funny!

Hey D-E ---- I can chip in so you can buy some Mojo!

Now it used to be that Red's squaw would let him have as many folding boxes as could fit on his desk....
That's a fair amount of Q6600s, don't you think?
Red...? You gonna put up or shut up my old friend?

:D :D

If you stack them just right, you can get at least 20k PPD from a desk. ;)

Hey Steve.
That indian lost focus of today's world and I had to move along. I'm glad too... and much happier.

I'm back boys.

Ah well, at least your back.
Women are transitory, folding is forever.

Whats the boards in question? You could sell the processors you have and add 150.00 and get one that should get you 3000 or more points per day.
3.4 P4 = ~175ppd , 2 processors 350ppd.
1 Q6600 @3.0ghz = ~3750ppd

Grab a board from Evil Alchemist.

I dont need to race anybody. :) I just need to fold to feel better about having these machines here half built.

I'm not saying you have to race anyone :D What I am saying is for a more efficient boxen the quad would be better.

Asus mobo:

Q6600:

Seasonic PS:

add sata harddrive and a cd/dvd player to load os: run just the cpu/mobo and hd, and have an efficient and powerfull folder. Pin mod the cpu to 3.0ghz (333fsb) if you want

Some of that makes sense, but most of it.... sooo confused.

No race..... what.... I get the gutted boxen.

:p

If you plan to OC at all do not get that board. I have a Q6600 in a board with the same chipset and it's stuck at 2.9Ghz.

My other Q6600 that is in a P35 is pushing 3.3 :D Spend a few extra bucks and get a bunch more ppd.

After pad modding, the mobo will boot at 3.0 and allow it to be overclocked to 3.2 or more. Same ppd.

It's how you overclock an ECS board.

I could pad mod the biostar in my sig (same basic chipset)and it would boot at 2.66, but I am running standard clients and it would support it.

hehe, I'm glad you guys are laying out my "daily driver". :D

Any thoughts on my mouse and keyboard you'd like me to use. hehe.

gwarren007, if you say that doing the pad mod helped you overclock further with a 610i chipset, I'm tempted to do this on my E2160 which is struck at 2.8 GHz on a evga 610i.

Time for me to hunt for some conductive pen or paint...

I havent done it per say, I have the board on its way and looking for a conductive pen locally. Might be a month before I have any results. Have to get a quad first. I have read where it had been done, but right now I can't find it.
