Hey, this is the 2nd computer I've built, and just wanted to double check on here that there weren't any inconsistencies before I went ahead and ordered. Missing from that list are IDE cables, RAM, and hard drives. I already have these. I will be using 1GB of PC2100 RAM until I upgrade (I know this will be slow but it will have to do for now) and 2 WD 80GB SE drives.

The mobo uses a 24-pin power source, so I have the adapter listed. I don't plan on doing much overclocking. The whole PCI-E thing is new to me, so hopefully I didn't make any mistakes. Just please let me know if all of these parts will work together, I can't wait to have a new computer here. Thanks, the link to the components is below.

i suggest u get a better case, a $30 case isnt going to be too sturdy. go at least $60-$70 for a case.

and for ram....if u dont overclock, u can get 1gb of pc3200 ram for ~$100-$150.......and if u want to overclock, something around ~$250 wil be great
 
Hahahaha! That is why I made this thread. Thankfully for 10 dollars more, that problem is solved. Anything else? The case is cheap, but all the reviews speak really highly of it. Also, I have another case here in case that one is total shit. I just want something fresh, and that had very positive reviews for a low price.
 
FYI, all the reviews you see on newegg will be pretty positive (they want to sell stuff after all).
If you really like that case, then buy it, but I would reccomend using the case you have, and saving up for a nicer one.
Otherwise, that looks pretty good.
 
The Sony DVD is is pretty much a rebranded Lite-on, and is one of the more expensive DVD-rW. I would go for a Pioneer 108 or ASUS or NEC - they have been tested as the best models AND are cheaper than the Sony. I think there was an article on Anandtech (DVD-RW roundup or something)
