Not sure what parts to get, I fell out of the loop :(. I'm not on top of the game when it comes to hardware :(.

Any who, it's been about 2 years since I upgraded. Time to upgrade :).

I was thinking of an Athlon 64 with an ATi Radeon 9800 Pro or a X800 configuration? Maybe a Nvidia GeForce 6800.

There's really no budget but maybe under $2,000.

All I really need is: Motherboard, Processor and Video Card.

i would definately go with an x800 or 6800

probably a 74GB Raptor for a boot drive and another drive for storage

a little dual-layer dvd burnin' action wouldn't be so bad either

For that price, why not go S939 with FX53, and a 6800U? Run down some BH-5 and a volt-modded nf3-250 and you're good to go

if you're going to spend $2k on just the MB, CPU, and Video Card, get the best

A65 FX-53 socket 939 - $875
GA-K8NSNXP-939 Mother Board - $232
X800 XT PE - $500 (when it comes out)

Alrighty what should I go with in terms of future games ATi Radeon X800 XT PE or or 6800 GT/OC/Pro or whatever?

Either of those cards would be good... you're going to need some RAM as well, look at PC3200 or up, at least a gig. Should have a pretty nice system if you go with something like A64 or FX 53.
