hey everyone!
A friend of mine introduced me to this forum. I am enjoying this forum, learning a little more about computer than I used to know. I am a hardcore gamer, so I am building a new PC for gaming. Since I do not have a lot of knowledge of computer, I am going to ask for some advices.

My budget is around $1500ish

I am looking to order those parts form neweggs:

_____________________________________________________________________________

Inter Core 2 E6600

EVGA 8800GTS 640mb
or
EVGA 8800GTX 768mb

ASUS P5W DH DELUXE/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS - 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

CORSAIR 520W PSU

G.SKILL 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 x2

LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with 12X DVD-RAM x2

LIAN LI PC-65B Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16811112040

Saitek PZ30AU Black USB Wired Standard Eclipse Keyboard

Logitech MX518 mouse.

which totals up to be around $1500-$1700

I have no idea about which case and mobos to choose.

Also, I am a complete noob at water cooling. Is it hard to set up? and would I even need it?

or I should just use http://www.ultraproducts.com/product_details.php?cPath=17&pPath=571&productID=571for air cooling.

Oh yes, I am planning to do a little overclocking with a help of a friend.

Any advices and help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :)

if i can just say something
i would recomend getting 2gb of memory since you play a lot of games, and you can really see a diff
and for the gpu is would choose 8800 gtx cause it is quite better than gts
and for the case, you have to remember to get smth that will fit 8800 inside, because it is quite big
and i dont really think that you need watercooling unless you really want it

He did say 1GB of ram X2. The X2 means 2 of I believe.

I would stay away from watercooling right now, since you said yourself you do not have a lot of knowledge about computers...that rig you picked out will blow away pretty much any game on the market right now, on air at stock speeds.

In regards to motherboards, go check the motherboard forum...use the search button and run a search on the CPU you ran...you most likely will find a thread about a motherboard that goes with it.

You done pretty good research though, those are all good brands and good products and newegg is the place I got my stuff from.

I would add though, because it would only be like 20 bucks, another dvd drive, even just a player and not a burner. It's a nice convenience to have.

I see you don't have Vista including in that setup. Good.

If you are interested in watercooling, it really doesn't have anything to do with knowing a lot about computers. The only thing you have to do is mount the waterblock. Its actually easier than putting on a CPU heatsink fan in most cases. To just start out with watercooling, I'd recommend a nice external kit and only cool your CPU. The Corsair Nautilis is very good for a beginner kit. To leak test, all you have to do is fill it up and let it run for about 24hrs outside of your case before you mount it. Once you find you don't have any leaks, mount it and you are good to go.
