Hello, after reading a post below about building a fanles pc with some strange amd processor i would like to know if i can do it with commonly found parts.

So first off would be:

Processor? is there anything new that just a normal heatsink could be slaped onto? I currently have a PII 400MHz computer that has only a heat sink, so that problem might be solved.

Ram - dosnt matter

HDD - ide to cd convertor...i have looked at these things and they are cool!

Powersupply - one of those passevly cooled ones...... any suggestions?

Drivers - i woudl probibly take one apart and line it with that stuff you can get to make your case sound proof.

Am i missing anything?

Also i need a cool looking case! lol

P.S. waht type of performance can you expect from a high speed CF card, or microdrive?

im not looking for a gaming pc, i already have one of those, and as for a HTPC, im not to big on windows in the living room. I spend to much time at the pc as it is, i need a break, if i want to record somthing i plug in my usb tv tuner to my gaming rig and record it! lol...

What i am looking for is to get the bohemith of a loud computer out of my room! Its an Athlon XP 2000+ with like 4 case fans, a huge ass cpu fan, and not to mention the psu.

I dont need anything fancy, i just want a slick case, somthing to brows the net, and check e-mails, and to make no noise!

Here is what i have so far:

I either want to use my PII 400 mhz computer and mobo, or get this:

Its cpu fan is like non existant, so im thinking very low noise.

The thing about using my current PII is that i already have like 740 mb or ram for it, and its just sitting under my bed doing nothing.

I am also looking at this PSU:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153019

Since it is the cheapest no fan psu.

And for case:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129154

I really like the clean look of this.

And for HDD, im still dembating on wether or not to go with the IDE to CF, or just live with the HDD noise.... We will see if this ever comes about.

BTW: Do you know if i can get an updated mobo for my PII, or PIII slot processors?
