Trying to build a new PC been about 6 years since I've made one so trying to find out what would be good for the budget I have

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
gaming web browsing and some music and sound production
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
1500 before tax and shipping
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.

california
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
MoBo, CPU, RAM, case, video card, HDD, power supply,
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
not reusing any parts
6) Will you be overclocking?
maybe
7) 7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
1920x1080 27"
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
ASAP
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
SLI, SATA 6Gb/s, eSATA, USB 3.0 looking at mostly ASUS z68 chipset
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
windows 7 64bit

Are your music applications highly multi-threaded? If not, you can save $100 by opting for the 2500K over the 2600K. Do you use Firewire (1394) for your music programs? If not, the vanilla -V is only lacking that and 2 extra SATA 6GB ports, and is $35 cheaper than the PRO.

For RAM, the G.Skill Sniper is nicely low-profile, and currently only $43 for 8GB of DDR3-1600:

The Antec High Current Gamer 620W is a good choice for PSU, and is on sale right now at Newegg.

The go-to SSD is the Crucial M4. You can find cheaper ones, but the Crucial is pretty much the sweet spot for performance/price/reliability. If you have any intentions of overclocking, get an aftermarket cooler. The CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ is good enough for most overclocks and only costs $25.

You can also find 6970s for slightly (~$30) cheaper than that GTX 570, if you aren't particularly partial to Nvidia. Performance-wise they are about the same, with the 6970 getting the edge in most games.
