Building a new comp. Need help with Proc'

Hey,
Well, I am officially back to [H]ard forum... And it is great to be here.
I am officially back in the OC/benchmakring mode. And it feels great :cool:

Here are the specs so far:

Mother board: MSI Neo4 SLI
Ram: 2 gigs Gskill TCCD "E"
Hard Drives: 74 gig Raptor (main drive) 250 gig Maxtor SATA (storage drive)
CD/DVD Drive: Plextor Dual Layer SATA Burner
Keyboard: Logitech bluetooth due.
Mouse: Logitech MX1000
Monitor: 21" dell
Cooling: Koolance EXOS atached to an AC unit, nice n kool custom job.
Case: Old skool big arse white thing. With mods and pics to come.


Now I am looking for a Power supply that will have the right -5v line needed for the SBlive chip on the MSI neo4. I am trying to find something a little less the the Pc&PC 510 sli. As for video card. I am torn between the x800xtpe and the x850xtpe... Price benefit is the challenge there. I like the x800xl, but the mem and core wont cut it...

So the last thing I need some help with is the processor. Should I go with AMD or Intell? *kidding* I know some people freaked out there :p but I am seriously not sure if I should go with a 3200+ or a 3500+ Does one overclock better? (most procs have a "sweet" chip that OCs best) Or are they pretty equal. Does the higher muiltiplier on the 3500+ help in OCing? Or will the FSB not be a restriction with the 3200+?

As I have seen so far, you cannot increase the multiplier, only decrease it. So will the 3500+ oc better due to not needing higher FSBs Or will that not matter.... I am wanting to try for 2.9-3.1 Due to chilled watter, I should be able to get 2.9 I hope since I have seen 3 ppl do that so far on air...

PS: Before someone asks. Yes that is 4 sticks of Gskill ram, and yes I will be getting a venice core so I can take advantage of that ASAP, I will just leave two sticks out for now. Depending on timeline, I might wait for dual core though.
 
Any help? Is the 3500+ better then the 3200+ for OCing? I have searched the forum. And only seen some random oppinions. Any help?
 
there's no proof one way or another..
it all depends on the luck of the draw, though as a guaranteed minimum, the 3500+ will be faster due to it's higher rating.
