I am about to build my new comp in about 2 weeks when school is over and i just wanted you guys to tell me what you think about this setup.

1: CASE: yellow RAIDMAX Scorpio '868'
2: MOBO: Intel D875PBZ board
3: VIDEO CARD: ASUS Geforce fx5200 card
4: POWER SUPPLY: Thermaltake Silent PurePower 420w
5: Processor: P4 2.8c
6: Memory: Kingston ValueRam 512mb kit ( 256x2 )
7: Hard Drive: Western Digital Special Edition 80 gb '' WD800JB''
8: Sound: Creative Labs SoundBlaster live! 5.1
9: Heatsink: CoolerMaster Aero4 Lite CPU Cooler.
10: CD/DVD drives: already have
11: TV Tuner: Kworld tv tuner from my old comp

I also have some quick questions
1:} I will be modding a blowhole in the case mentioned above so if i hook up everything in the modded case and the case turns out to have a bad power switch or something do you think newegg would let me RMA it or something, or would i just be screwed?
2:} Do you guys have any pointers i can use when i build my comp?

I will be using this comp for occasional gaming and mostly web surfing and watching TV

1. If you mod something, or overclock something, the warranty for that part is toast.
2. That Intel motherboard is excellent but will give you *zero* options when it comes to overclocking.
3. That video card is mediocre at best so your gaming needs had better be light. Doom3/HL2 need not apply (OK, the games will probably run, but not particularly well).
4. Yellow case?

Edited because I came across as too negative: Good luck and have fun! You've come to the right place to for help...

definately make sure that everything works before you start adding holes to your case. Newegg is probably not going to take back a damaged case. They refurb a lot of returns and re-sell them on the website.

Advice, take your time, buy some Arctic Silver 5 for your thermal paste, and if you are in doubt about anything, ask someone first. If you damage your new hardware, Newegg is under no obligation to RMA it.

Have Fun building that box. Let us know how it turns out.

BTW, Newegg sells XP Pro pretty cheap when you order it with hardware. Around $140 instead of $300 in stores.

the reference intel mob is ok, but if you are going to be spending that kinda of money your better to go and get a mobo that has more features on it. I also agree that you should def. think about getting another video card. Unless u don't have the money. Remember what you play for is what u get. Do as much research as possible on the hardware u want to get.

I'd definitely scrap the Intel mobo and get something like the ABIT IS7 or IC7-series board. You never know if you may want to overclock in the future...

well to be honest im on a limited budget so thats why im choosing some cheaper end parts to cut the costs. I dont want my dad to yell at me for making the comp cost more that 900 bucks.

it looks like you're on a budget, if you can squeeze a few more bucks, ditch that case and go for one of the antec's.

as for power supply, not too bad, also look at the antec true series.

and like everyone, trash the intel mobo, abit ic7 series or asus p4x series.

so should i trash the D875PBZ motherboard even if im not crazy about overclocking? Cause the last time i overclocked my comp i barely overclocked it by 6%

building ur comp is exciting and fun!!!! good luck!!! i never spent better money in my life!!!

I agree with people that are telling you to ditch the case and mobo.

I say you get an Antec case that comes with their Power Supple. As for the Motherboard, I really like Abit, they have proven themselves in my book.

1. Get a Lian-Li case.
2. If you're thinking of overclocking at all, get another MB.
3. Get ATI 9800Pro
4. Get Antec (for mid-tower) or Enermax (for full-tower).
6. I would get Crucial or Corsair (Mushkin if you want to go nuts!); Kingston might be fine, I just have no experience with it (although, my new work computer has it).
7. Get two and backup all your stuff on the other HD.
8. Just get a regular Audigy or Audigy2.
9. Get Thermalright HS instead

These are just my suggestions based on my experience and what I would do. If you need reasons why, just ask and someone may be able to help.
