Building a file server, components?

I've decided to build a home file server of sorts, something that will act as an HTPC, as well as storage for files, media, backups, etc, perhaps sending information to another PC & TV, perhaps an occasional game server, etc. for all the computers in the house. I've built other PCs before, but in general I just want some information on what components would be good for the purpose of a file server. This is the rough idea of what I have in mind so far:

Athlon XP 2500+
NForce 2 ultra 400 motherboard - any specific suggestions?
512MB PC3200
GeForce 2 GTS card - because I have a spare one around
hauppauge PVR-150 - for HTPC functions
some sound card to go to the simple 2.0 speakers on the TV being used currently
6x-8x 200GB drives (Seagate?) - seems to be the cheapest way to get 1TB+
1x 80GB drive (or some small size) - for OS and programs
Lite-On DVD drive
Floppy drive, still need it for raid drivers and such
Case - I was thinking something like this http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-129-120&depa=1 - 400W Antec should be enough, right?
Smart-UPS 700
4x panaflo 80mm L1A

As for the raid card itself, I’ve heard that 3ware is the best, however they’re also the most expensive, and since this may be limited by the 32-bit PCI slot anyway, any other suggestions for a cheaper card that would keep up with what I’m doing above, or if not, what card is suggested?

A standard motherboard with 32-bit PCI slots seems to be a good cheap choice, is there really any need for a motherboard with 64-bit PCI slots for a small scale like this? Or things like registered or ECC memory for that matter?

Well that’s my rough idea so far. Any comments or suggestions on components?
