With the hopeful release the OCZ phase change unit for cheap I am thinking of switching from building a water-cooled rig to a phase changed one. I a very sizeable budget and so I was building a high-end high-flow watercooling rig which cooled all the high-heat parts: CPU, RAM, and both vid cards. My question is, how do I phase change cool all of these parts? Is that possible, or do I need to phasechange just the CPU and water cool the rest? If anyone has some information on creating this system please let me know.
 
Tools alone will cost you huge amount of investment. Usually people who never have done successful ones will keep saying you don't need this or that but there is a reason why tools exists... (shrug). Best you could do is single stage for CPU and rest of components getting chilled by water chiller.
 
Yes you could save a lot... instead of 3-4k buying new... you could get over with about 1-2k... :p (smart e-bay shopping fun).
Here is what you need legally and safely.
1) Nitrogen tank, regulator. ($200 or so combined) be wary of shopping on e-bay as tank need to be certified and has life span.
2) Vacuum pump that can pull below 100 micron at least. Preferably 25 micron. ($150-300 on e-bay)
3) Recovery unit. ($200-400 on e-bay)
4) Recovery tank. ($50-100) Buy it new at local place. Not worth shopping at e-bay and risking it. Shipping isn't too cheap on these either.
5) Some kind of brazing tool. Could be cheap or expensive I guess. (typical oxy-acetylene goes for $250-300... better one... well too much)
6) Swaging tool ($50 or so on e-bay).
7) than there are many little things that adds up and big things too... I probably didn't mention about 20 other things lol.
If you know local HVAC guy... you might be able to borrow his tools... (I would never lend mine to someone though... might be just me). which would save considerable amount of DIY tool money.
