Is it actually possible to do this?
I have looked on the internet, and have only managed to find one incidence of this actually having happened, and I could not find a laptop chassis for sale anywhere...
It would be good if you could actually do this, as I don't want to buy a pre-built one...

It definitely is possible, however finding the chassis can be difficult. A few topics on this exist, search for them.
