Build Suggestions Please?

Hey all... I recently built a SFF around a Corsair 250d. I love the case but I was using a last gen Intel chip and with how hard it was to find a board wound up with a rather low end one that lacks USB3 or any kind of OC support. The OC I can realistically live without but the USB3 is killing me since I do a lot of moving data around with external hard drives. So it's time to build something new instead of recycling parts I have sitting around.

So I'm looking at the following
MoBo: MSI A88XI AC
CPU: AMD A10-7850K
RAM: GSkill Ripjaws or Trident @ 2133
SSD: New 3d memory Samsung 850 EVO - Or is there a better brand?

So my main questions...
1) Any reason to not go AMD? Sure I know it's a bit slower and uses a bit more power than an Intel setup. But it's a nice bit cheaper so I can get a bigger SSD. And I have the feeling it would be more useful to have all my games on a SSD than an Intel CPU?
2) Any opins on the board? It seems solid and MSI has been around forever even though I've managed to never own one of their boards.
3) Any issues with having the onboard GPU run a 2nd monitor or potentially do GPGPU stuff (Like the audio processing that some games are supposed to be doing at some point) with a NVidia running the main monitor?
4) Can anyone see any differences in the RAM besides cosmetic ones? Or am I blind?
5) Since I'm not sure of what's lurking on the horizon... Does AMD have any new chips on the docket to wait for? I think the 28nm A10 is pretty new so I'm thinking no, but best to ask around.

Thanks for taking a minute to take a look. It's much appreciated!

Hi. I have a few comments.

1. You basically listed the arguments I can think of, so I would say go for it. Only thing to keep in mind is that since you have an Nvidia GPU, you lose out on some of the benefits of the A10. If you had an AMD GPU you could run the on-board graphics and the GPU in Crossfire for increased performance. This makes these processors more valuable for gaming applications for their price.
2. Quality wise I think MSI is a safe bet. I don't have specific knowledge on AMD chipsets though, so can't help you there.
3. Apart from what i mentioned in "1.", from a productivity standpoint you might as well run both from your Nvidia card. You wont be able to do dual screen gaming it your single discrete GPU can't hadle it. You cant have them render half the image each. Thats where CFX/SLI comes into play. As for GPGPU I don't know.
4. As far as I can see they both show up in neweggs memory finder when specifying your specific MB. Keep in mind that on both modules it is stated that enabling XMP memory profile is required to reach advertised speed, and this is not supported on your MB. I don't have much knowledge about this, but it might be worth checking out.
5: the AMD Carrizo line is set to hit the market this year. I know nothing about it, but might be worth reading up on before investing.

Thanks Urelure!

1. I had no idea you could crossfire with the built in GPU. I'll have to take a look into that, very cool!
2. It's the only chipset available for AM2+ and mITX so... lol
3. I don't mean 2 monitors for one game, more like 2 monitors for 2 different games... I know that doesn't seem to make sense! And I suppose if both drivers will work on the same system that will allow GPGPU.
4. Yeah, I can't figure out why they would have two identical chips. About the XMP, it's just auto loading settings that you can configure manually so there should be no issue. Didn't memory also used to have some AMD version of XMP?
5. I'll have to take a look into that! Even though these USB2 transfers are killing me it could be worth waiting.

Thanks again!
