1) I ordered an i7 3770 non K version, because I did not know better when I ordered; Does the K overclock enough to make it worth the price difference?
2) I also realized, that by giving up some L3 cache, and HT, you can get a $200 or so unlocked Ivy bridge i5, and probably overclock it very nicely - is there a popular option among those possibilities?
3) Does the NOT K 3770 overclock via multiplier at all? I thought I read it had limited capability - just curious
4) I ordered 2133 DDR3 with CAS latency 11, because it was cheap; in the past there did not seem to be much advantage to paying the extra $$$ for the faster RAM; is this still true for general gaming needs?
5) There's a stupid amount of ASUS mobos in the series I ordered. I ordered the ASUS P8Z77-V which seemed reasonable at the time. But then I realized there's at least 5 models not even including micro; seems confusing to the consumer I did not see a lot of reasons to go with more expensive options - stuff like eSATA, allowance for faster RAM, options like t-bolt seemed to be the main differences. Did I miss anything?
6) The Sapphire Radeon 6950 seemed like a good performer for the price. Did I miss anything in the under $250 department?

Sorry for so many questions. Feel free to answer a few or none. I used to know PC hardware pretty well, but that was back in the pre DDR days

1) Yes.
2) If the highest-end use is just gaming, the Core i5 is more than enough. If you're doing extensive 3D, video, or audio editing or VM work, that's when the Core i7 CPUs are worth the money.
3) Last I checked, the regular 3770 can be still be OC'd via multiplier but its multiplier is significantly lower than that of the K series.
4) Yes. So unless that DDR3 2133 cost the same as a cheaply priced DDR3 1333 or DDR3 1600 RAM, that RAM was probably overpriced. Also, is the RAM you chose rated at 1.5V or less? If it's rated above 1.5V, return it as it can damage the CPU.
5) None really.
6) The HD 7850 2GB is a good choice since it uses less power, offers the same if not better performance and will have longer driver support than the 6950.

As for (4), I don't think I paid much for the RAM. Under 140 for 2GB
As for (6), last time I checked, the 6950 was $50 cheaper. Seemed like the better deal.

Wait, $140 for 2GB?

Basically if you're here in the U.S, if you paid more than $110 for 2 x 8GB DDR3 RAM set or $95 to $100 for a 4 x 4GB DDR3 RAM set, you pretty much got ripped off.

And again, what's the voltage for your RAM?

As for (6), last time I checked, the 6950 was $50 cheaper. Seemed like the better deal.

The pricing for the HD 7850 has dropped to the point where there's only a $20 price difference.
