Hey,

I'm building a new comp for my dad. That means no overclocking, turn based strategy games, and MMO's (warhammer/Age of Conan).

The other problem is, it has to come pre-assembled, which means all from one place, which means overly expensive.
Total: $1025, then tax and assembly.

Does this seem like an decent build to survive the next 2-3 years (keep in mind that he's been getting buy on a dell from 2001 or so, that has only had a RAM and Video card upgrade 9800 PRO, AGP... but his Mobo only supports AGP 4x.:D

I'm considering getting a slightly faster processor, but I just don't see the need.

Regardless, I'm sure even this will make his dick hard in comparison. not to mention an XP install thats not 7 years old.

Total: $873.96 + tax Also they will assemble and install the os at no charge if you buy all components from them.

This could be a great candidate for an amd x2 4800 or so, cpu and board would be $150.

Thanks for the site man!!!!

Yeah, I'd prefer to stay Intel right now, because that leaves the upgrade possibilities open, I'll poke around there, might change up a few options, depends.
