My step dad and I just built a really nice Bookcase/Entertainment center. I knew going in that my current case wouldn't fit but I'm having a hard time finding a case that holds, ATX board and possibly a 6850, that doesnt cost an arm and leg. It must fit into a space of 20 wide 15 deep.

Anywho, I started thinking that maybe I could just mount the MB to the wood ( MDF wood) but I dunno if thats safe for the parts, how i would cool it and how to mount it. I still have some time as I need to paint the thing but want to come up with a solution of a case or how to mount inside the spot.

Where you see the current PC is where I need it to fit.

that case is mATX, but that style of AV or cube case could work
Alternative is sell your mb and switch to either mATX or ITX, you may even find someone to trade with.

I like that one. Would mean I need to buy a 775 mATX board though

Even better, assuming the dimensions fit: http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-HAF-EVO-Rev/dp/B00FB45WPI

Might be too big though.
Too big, but cool looking

Yeah kind of where I'm at
