Hi all. Ok, so yeah Im currently running my now ancient AMD rig. S939 FX-60, 2 GB RAM, 8800 GTX, Vista Home Premium. Likely over time it will turn into a full on build, but for now Im planning the guts.
My choices so far:
Intel Core i7 920 Bloomfield
ASUS P6T
Corsair XMS 6GB Triple channel kit
Likely to go to 12GB shortly after build.
EVGA GTX 260 216 Superclocked
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 OEM
TRANSFERS:
Thermaltake Soprano Case
SB X-FI Extreme Audio PCI-E
WD SATA 160GB and 80GB (Eventual upgrade to Raptor)
DVD Combo Drive
PC Power and Cooling 650Wwith 49A on the 12V side
Now Im not worried at all about my transfers (Audio is crystal clear, I dont burn DVDs and my HDs load fast enough for me... for now) with the lone exception being the power supply. I bought a PC P&C because I wanted the absolute BEST I could afford at the time. Has not let me down once and I get the feeling this beast could shrug off my planned upgrade like a grenade v. an M1 Abrams! But Id certainly like your guy's opinion given I want to upgrade my GFX card AND add a quad core with 3x the RAM Im currently running.
