I am building my first pc and heading out to frys tomorrow to purchase everything i need, but i want to make sure i know what i really need. Would it be possible for one of you guys to compile me a list of everything i shall need down to the little parts, as well as simple instructions.

basic list of parts:

quality power supply
motherboard
cpu
ram
hard drive
cd-rom
case
keyboard
mouse
floppy
artic silver thermal paste

now depending on whether or not you get a motherboard with integrated sound/video/network card, you may need to get those seperately

well all those things mentioned on the list i have written down already, but except the paste. What is the paste for?

The paste is what you put on top of the cpu to make sure the heat transfers from the chip to your heatsink fan on top (the thing that cools your cpu)

I recommend artic silver 5 if you can get it

here are some instructions on how to apply it

I think you'd be better off at newegg, frys can rip you off on things like memory, CPU and mobo
