Thats my set up... every time i try to load the nvidia drivers from either the site or the disk the screen flickers and it restarts... it does this over and over

I tried in safe mode and well everything worked out fine, well thats what I thought. Now I cant get into windows as it keeps restarting once it gets to the XP loading screen

So is it my video thats causing all these problems?

also tried to reformat, and doesn't work one bit.

As soon as I booted up my PC for the first time the screen was weird looking, check in the pictures. It did this in the boot up screens but not on windows itself... defective videocard?

bum and/or overheated card. check to see if fan is working. if it is, rma card. sorry. what psu are you using?

reseat your card. if it still doesnt work it is probably a bum and needs to be RMAd.

just RMAd mine with similar problem.

how would I reset my cat?
your cat has nothing to do with it. :p remove the card (take your time, no point in damaging it and possibly messing up the ability to RMA the card). After you remove the card make sure theres no dust in the slot (canned air works well). After that firmly put the card back in as russian said. If you still have problems with it then RMA that thing.

Maybe you're the Chosen One? Have you taken any red or blue pills lately?

I had the same problem. RMA'd it, and it's on its way back.

Reseating didn't fix mine, nor did canned air.

I have problems with my 7900GT too, cept it's more along the lines of gaming than actually booting. Mine, being one of those early 7900GTs, overheats a lot while I play any sort of graphically intensive games, to the point where it actually helped me cut my interest in gaming down. Maybe during the summer if I still have a problem, I'll RMA it and hopefully start gaming again.
