I am looking at purchasing the ASUS P5WD2-E Premium and I am wondering whether its worth purchasing DDR900 ram. Ideally I would like to have 2-4 gb of ram. I do lots of development, running multiple cpus via virtual pc

I see that OCZ, Patriot and Buffalo both offer several 2x1GB unbuffered Dual channel kits.

Patriot boasts CAS latency of 4 which is better then 5. Is it worth it? Is Patriot a trusted company?

Would this be excellent memory to pair with my motherboard? Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks.

because 1066mhz fsb is really 266mhz. running your ram 1:1 with that gives ddr2-533.
there are litte gains to be had from running too much over 1:1 due to bandwidth limitations on the fsb ;)

see how the bandwidth actually scales almost perfectly with the fsb, and not the actual ram speed? :D

I guess I'm not the only one who's frickin' confused about DDR2. I'm looking into AM2 and have no idea how to make my RAM selection.

yeah, honestly i dunno what's really good and what's not either. time will tell though ;)

:p I say go with what the motherboard says is standard or faster if you are an OCer :p JUST SO YOU FEEL GOOD :D
