Budget speaker setup for gaming only

I've decided to get a audigy ZS but I need to get some speakers around the $100 range. I'll only be using my speakers for gaming, as I have my grado's for music :)

However, for gaming purposes I can't decide if I would be better off with a 2.1 or 5.1/6.1 setup. Currently I have two front speakers and a sub. I was thinking of getting the Z-5300 for 5.1 or maybe the Logitech X-620 for 6.1. Are there any other alternative budget speakers? For gaming does more satelites make for a better experience?

Klipsch.com is selling refurb. PM 5.1 Ultras for 249.00. A bit over your budget, but they are running a special allowing you to pay it off over 6 months.
 
depends for what games, for doom3 having surround is really nice, i should think that the newer games are going to take advantage of better speakers and sound cards. for non 1st person shooters i'd go w/ better 2.1 speakers instead of 5.1. i'd go w/ either headphones of 5.1 setup for FPS
 
I'd suggest selling your grados and getting headphones that have better positioning for games (NOT "5.1" HEADPHONES!!), and saving up a bit for a decent 2.1 or 4.1 system... No need to go crazy on the amount of sattelites.. get some 4.1's, you'll be fine. Trust me.
