What is a good value heatsink for socket AM2? I don't want to spent $60 on a heatsink that will be marginally better than a $30 one.

I am currently using the stock heatsink with a X2 3600 (brisbane) (running at 2.8ghz). I need better cooling, and preferably less noise than the stock.

It certainly used to be Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro or Blu Orb for very decent budget AM2 heatsinks.

I'm not sure if it's AM2 compatible but if it is the Scythe Ninja would be worth consideration also (it does say 940, so I think it is)

Update: Yep Scythe Ninja plus (Rev B) is AM2 compatible according to the Scythe site below:

i would second the AC freezer 64 pro.. had one on my x2 3800 and worked like a champ.

thermalright heatsinks, I use the SI 128. I never skimp on a good heatsink, they dont cost that much and perform alot better than stock heatsinks any day.

If you can find one, the amd heatsinks with heatpipes work great. I have an unused one sitting in my closet, but I'm keeping it for its sexiness :D
