Hey guys I am currently looking to setup a youtube channel for fifa and cod and I currently only own a ps3 (and a old tube tv) and wanted to build a gaming setup from the ground up.

Things I need:

20-26 inch tv or monitor- if monitor then I need hdmi, dvi, and vga inputs so one can be for laptop, one for ps3, and one for hd cap device

Speakers and/or Headset- preferably a headset like the px21 that I can use for both pc and ps3 so I can commentate and chat with the same headset

Laptop- A good laptop in the that I can record, edit, render, and upload with (haupauge hd pvr and/or black magic and sony vegas)

HD capture card

Any Cables I will Need- HDMI,DVI,VGA, Component-HDMI/DVI/VGA,etc.

Starting Budget- 800-950$ will increse if i see fit

quick replies are appreciated and thx

The only capture card that does HDMI is the Blackmagic Intensity Pro or that Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle. And you're laptop won't be able to use the Pro. So that leaves either an Avermedia Game Capture HD (which I own) or a Hauppauge HD-PVR (which I did own but stopped working) or the BlackMagic Shuttle. The advantage with the HD-PVR is that you can stream to twitch or justin.tv with it. You can't with the Avermedia because it's a recorder only and it records directly to a hard drive. I've never used the Shuttle don't really know anything about it. All I know is Black Magic stuff is a bitch to use. You have to have the compatible motherboards and such. I doubt a laptop would work. As for TV's you will need something with component inputs because that is what the HD-PVR or the Avermedia will use. So you will need the component cables for your PS3. Laptop is really up to you as long as it's powerful enough to encode video.
