What's everybody think of this? I am not gonna do one of the question things the budget is $360, The build date is Now! and i already have a 400 wt psu for it.
This is just a basic machine for my sister and her husband who will use it for itunes and internet browsing... And when i say itunes... theres a reason i have a 2 tb hdd included....

As listed, those parts will not work together at all. The X2 7850 supports only DDR2 memory as does the motherboard that you selected (DDR3 memory modules are both physically and electrically incompatible with DDR2 memory slots). And current DDR2 prices are higher than much of the DDR3 memory of the same capacity. Plus, the X2 7850 is now a very old design that has relatively weak performance per clock compared to the newer X2 2xx AM3 CPUs.

In addition, that system has no case cooling fans or a PSU at all whatsoever. Plus, the largest fan that it can accommodate is only 92mm. This results in subpar airflow in that case.

As a result, not only you got a craptacular setup even for that price, you got one that is completely non-functional.

And ignore the recommendation from 4LC4PON3: While better, it still lacks a PSU at all whatsoever. There is absolutely no way at all whatsoever to fit a decent case, CPU, mobo, RAM, PSU and a 2TB HDD for under $360 or even $450. You'll have to drop all the way down to a sub-320GB hard drive or really crappy components in order to meet that budget.

I only built that based on he said he had a 400 watt PSU for it. I did edit my post above and ask what 400 watt he has already. Depending on what 400 watt he has. if it is Quality then it will work. If not of quality then building this Rig on that budget is going to be Tight or not going to be able to do it at all.

*Cringe*

I'm the most gung-ho builder you will meet, but those specs look horrendous. Cheap parts, incompatibility issues, and no mention of the brand on the PSU. Almost sounds like a Mac or something. :) I would consider some more reputable brands, and increase your budget. Otherwise, why go to the trouble?

IF that is the Model then my build will work but its 6 bux over budget. Anyway to Verify the PSU.
 
If the PSU is a few years old, then you should seriously consider buying a new one for this system. Power supplies degrade over time, especially if they were in constant usage beforehand.

With such a limited budget to work with, you need to check out some of the bargain hunting sites for some deals on a prebuilt system. (You can always add additional hard drive later.)
 
agreed users above. If the PSU is that old I just dont see this happening. Ive tryed multiple ways to piece together a system for you but im coming up for around 400.00

The long story short is that compromises will need to be made for a compatible system within your small budget... and even then, you'll need a new power supply sooner rather than later.

Go with 4LC4PON3's build for the time being.

Quote yourself? You never said you aren't answering questions because it's not your build, but yet you are asking for build help. Right now people are just throwing out builds that probably wont benefit the intended purpose of the build. It doesn't have to be your build to answer the questions, but you can get the answers from the person you are building this for.

Although from the looks of it, I don't think I'd let you put together anything for me. To each his own I guess.
 
ok thanks 4LC4PON3, Didnt think i'd ever get a straight answer, for now i am going to order every and use the extra psu and next month after bill paying i am going to order them a new 400/500 watt psu!
 
i am not asking about anything now i have everything figured out i am using his build above, but with a tad smaller hard drive and my existing psu until they can buy a new one, it is christmas and they have 2 young children so money tight and skillz i said in the first line i am not going to answer the questions and i bet if you were tight on money, didnt know jack shit about building your own system and somebody offered to do the work for free you would protest and from the looks of what?
