So I'm thinking of getting a wallet and I've narrowed it down to 2-3. My issue is that I'd really rather not get the main QT wallet as that blockchain download is probably a ridiculous size. Is there any reason I shouldn't use something like MultiBit or something like it as my main wallet? :p
 
qt took about 8 hrs to sync...its about 17GB, currently, just FYI.

that said its super easy to use, dont mind recommending it.
 
MultiBit works great. No need to be downloadin' the whole blockchain.
 
Theres my issue... 17GB is a huge chunk of my monthly cap. I seriously hate my ISP but its all we got here. May have to really consider MultiBit then. Can anyone explain how their system works? I understand that it doesn't download the whole chain and only contains your transactions. Is this a correct assumption or am I off? Thanks in advance for the info. I appreciate the comments. :D

If you ever get to where you're dealing with balances that will hurt if lost though, do it right and keep a qt wallet on a disconnected external drive.
