after installing a Corsair 450w PSU. any1 ever had this isue? installed new memory as well, but it passed memtest fine. all brand new

Wait.

What was replaced and when?

Did you JUST replaced the PSU on an otherwise functioning machine and started getting the BSOD's or did you replace the PSU AND the RAM?

Or is it ALL new parts (mobo, CPU, RAM, PSU, etc.)

just the psu and ram,, and everything was working b4. Seems like a video card problem as it kicka me outta games at random
. Deleted old vid drivers, reinstalled, ran clean up on files, still getting kicked from games. Says its a nvidia problem, any idea?

You need to provide MUCH more info, your complete hardware specifications and operating system along with any overclocking configurations.

You need to list your hardware specs please. CPU, motherboard, RAM and if you can any info on what the BSOD. Saying that you got a BSOD in Vista x32 Home Basic without more specifics won't give anyone enough to go on to help you.

CPU: ATHLON 64X2 4000+, Mobo: Nvidia 6100, RAM: A-data ( 2x2) 4gb total pc 6400

How long did you run Memtest+ for?
What does the BSOD say? The error codes, etc.

In fact, just run Memtest+ again on each stick of RAM separately for at least three hours.

it shut down b4 i could write it. its not the memory. did memtest on both sticks last night and passed. Somethign with my vid card and the new psu me thinks, but set everything up like it was /tear

Update.

Havent gotten the BSOD all day. Ran EQ and TF2 for a bit, but i ultimately get kicked out saying something about nvidia is the issue.
red/l mobo drivers, graphic drivers and still here. friend seems to think pci-e power cord isnt getting anough to a part of comp

What is the exact error message? "Something" does not help us help you.

Pop in your old PSU and see if the problems still occur. If the problems still occur, then it's your video card.

Ok this is what BSOD ' Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
*** STOP: 0X000000D1, ( 0X478B001C, 0X0000001B, 0X00000008, 0X478B001C)

REsearched this a bit and seems this = Bad drivers

Stop 0×000000D1: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL - Note the “Driver” part at the start off the message, this isnt the same as the error message above - This Windows stop error indicates that the computer tried to access memory using a kernal process which had a IRQL that was too high (as kernal processes can only access IRQLs that it is either equal to or IRQLs that less than it). This is usually caused by incorrect or incompatible drivers. ( taken from technibble.com)

I reinstalled my vid drivers for my 8800 GT OC 512 ( uninstalled the old ones 1st) still occurs. Any suggestions?

Run your PC one stick at a time.

Doesn't matter if Memtest passed the RAM or not. This sounds like a memory problem.

So run both my 2gb sticks seperately for how long? it usually finishes in 40 mins or so, so run it a few times per stick?

i had this problem long ago on a 650i board with 8800gts, i never found out the problem back then so i'll be interested to see what your fix is.

everything ive read online says its a driver issue,

Will doing a system restore to factory seeting scrub all drivers?

I just recently swapped out a 7900 GTX for an 8800 GTS 512MB and had zero issues without having to reinstall anything. Using newest Nvidia driver....

You replaced the RAM and the PSU. You didn't replace the graphics card. This sounds like a RAM issue. I know the error says "Nvidia driver blah blah blah" but EVERYTHING goes through your RAM, so if a particular application uses an address of your RAM that's bad, it's an application error that spits out, not anything that says something like "hey... you have bad RAM!"

You have two sticks of RAM.... seems like the easy and more logical thing to do is to try the RAM one stick at a time.

ok, so as i stated earlier it takes my comp about 40 mins to run through 1 2gb stick of memory, should i run it more than once, 2-3 times? for each stick?

I ran both sticks of my memory ( A-DATA ddr2 800 4gb 2x2) for a total of 6 hours( 3 hr on each) no errors. I put another set of memory into the computer that was giving me BSOD and it runs fine ( going on 6 hours in games+) So any1 have any idea. Would my computer for some reaosn not support ddr2 800. Its an acer aspire ast180 ( nvidia 6100 board)

So you swapped out the A-Data RAM for another set of RAM correct? And this other set of RAM is a slower speed RAM, correct? The Nvidia 6100 chipset does support DDR2 800 RAM BTW.

Also run Memtest+ on each stick of RAM for 24 hours each to completely rule out the A-Data RAM. And then after that, just play your games with just one stick inside the system. See if the drive errors show up then.

And to rule out driver issues, use Driver Cleaner to completely clean out the Nvidia video card drives. Then reinstall the latest video card driver.

Software memory tests are like software voltage readings. They're only vague indications of a problem. They can neither point to nor eliminate suspect parts.

When Memtest fails, you KNOW it's bad RAM. But Memtest will also PASS bad RAM sometimes.

What voltage are you running your ram at? It may need 2.1 volt or so to meet spec if it's ddr2 and being pushed. This sounds like memory to me.
