BSOD when afk - 10.12

Anyone here that use the 10.12 catalyst or 10.12a get random BSOD every couple of days when they afk?

My comp passes prime95 no prob, and it's an i7 870 OC'd to 3.7ghz with XFX 6870 @ stock. I game fine, never crashed while gaming. I go leave the comp for a while, eat dinner, come back, and it rebooted from a bsod. I get an BBCode: 3B. This happened several times since 10.12.
 
I have gotten the exact same thing twice. It's only happened when I had Sony Vegas open. If I have it off, no problems.
 
blue screen or grey screen?

I switched from the top DVI port to the bottom DVI port when I took down and setup my PC again and booted into windows and BAM grey screen. Rebooted and everything was fine. has not happened from that one time and I have been running for 24/7 for the passed two weeks+
 
Blue screen in my case. By the time I get back to my pc, I'm greeted with the "Windows has recovered from dying*"
 
I've had instability recently and am starting to think it's related to my cards / video drivers. I'm going to go back to 10.10 or 10.11 and see if the machine starts behaving again tonight. It isn't a common issue, but I'll get a crash maybe once every other day.
 
I had it happen a couple times, all while I left the computer to update something. Couple of times while updating BFBC2 (had to restart the update 3 times lol..) and once while downloading Burnout Paradise (legit download from EA.) I never figured out what exactly was causing it, but it was a bsod according to the error report and only happened those few times.
 
Yes, I have had this happen 3 times in the last few days, thought it was just me. Walk away from the computer and come back and it has recovered from a bsod. Installed a new xfx 6970 on Friday, running 10.12 drivers.
 
Same issue with card in my sig. and 10.12 drivers. It happens to me when I leaving something running and let windows turn off my monitor after 15 minutes. When I go to wake up my monitor, there is no display, just a black screen. But the backlight on the monitor is still on... After a reboot, windows says I had a 3b BSOD. Whocrashed says it's an ati driver problem.
 
yup random bsod when afk, since updating to 10.12. Going to roll back and see if this new unwanted feature goes away :)

Yeah, I had BSODs when my monitor would go to sleep. The 11.1 drivers so far seem to have fixed this bug.
 
I can't tell if it's blue or grey screen cuz it happens when I'm afk. Either I leave comp on over night, it rebooted while I asleep, or while I'm at work.I just remember not having this issue when I was on 10.10 cuz I had an uptime of 2-3 weeks. Ever since 10.12, it's been crashing randomly. I can't go down to 10.11 cuz I got 6870.

I also downloaded a software BlueScreenViewer and according to the dump files, it seems to be ati driver related.

Lol, and I thought it was my voltage / ram settings. Looks like I can OC some more.
 
I've 10.12 as well, but it seems to work fine here. Been months since I had a BSOD, and that wasn't GPU related. My computer will shut off the screen after 30 minutes or so, but it always comes back on perfectly.

The one problem I do have is the "sluggish mouse-movement in upper-right corner of screen" thing. Rather odd.
 
I'm getting the windows has recovered yada yada when I come to the computer after it has went to sleep quite a few times with the .12 drivers.
 
Same here on 10.12. Random BSOD when away from my PC, never when I am actually using it. I thought it was just my OS taking a shit and I was going to reformat anyway.
 
Yeah my flat mate reformatted his PC twice thinking his new ssd raid array was causing the issue, thanx AMD :)
 
I got the same shit going on right now too. I bought 2 Gigabyte 6850's today and was about to take their asses back. So I will try to find an older driver for the 6800 series i guess. I hate it because the aging 4850's I got need to go. I downloaded the 10.12 ccc2 (The experimental one) so I am wondering if that has anything to do with it. I used Drive Sweeper like I do every time I upgrade any driver I'll try the original 10.12 first though. With my old cards I was using 10.9 and all was good. $400 later and i got a headache instead of a gaming monster. :eek: The scary part of all of this is I googled this and it looks to be real common with these drivers.
 
Alright ladies and gentlemen, sorry for the double post. Driver 10.11 burned my house down and knocked up my dog. Don't use it with a 6800 series card, lol J/K. THe same things happened. reboots upon going into windows, crashing when I step away, not loading games, just restarting the computer after a fast flash of blue. However, Catalyst 10.10 works like a dream so far. I have beat it up a bit with 3dmark 06, Vantage and 3dmark11. Then I Fired up Kombuster on it and it didn't crash out and reboot like it had been just loading up. So I will update this later if anything else comes up. :D
