Recently got a new cd-r, a Memorex 52x ultra speed 3252AJ1 E-IDE....
Every CD i attempt to burn, about half way through burning, I get a:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Blue screen of death. And I have a Bug check in the event viewer.
I run an old soyo pro mobo, maxed with a 2100+ Athlon XP, and run XP Pro SP1.
I have had this same problem with SP2 as well.
I have tried all various chipset drivers, reinstalled video drivers, had windows find its own again. There is no firmware for this burner. I have disabled, and even uninstalled my AVG antivirus, and Kerio Personal firewall. I tried disconnecting my slave HD, so that just my main HD was on the main IDE. Tried switching places on the 2nd IDE for the roms...
I use just the burner as a cd-rom and drive, I use no other. The jumper was on 'Master' just like the previous teac burner that lasted 5 years with no problems.
So I am thinking the drivers are fine. Other software is fine. i tried burning with 3 different versions of Nero. All different #'ed versions were also Ultra, Enterprise, and the OEM that came with the burner. Sometimes the crash would occur after a successful burn as well, but not as often. Nero has always worked great for me untill now.
So, does it seem like the new burner is shot?
Or does the mobo seem to old? It has the latest via drivers (tried 3 sets) for the KT133.
Thanks for any help.
