BSOD after Vista install

Machine specs:

4 gigs (2 sets of) TWIN2X2048-6400C4
Q6600
8800GTX
Enermax Infiniti
Evga 680i A1
Vista

Everything is running stock speeds, and the Q6600 is correctly reported with FSB, multi, and GHz in the BIOS...

First issues is that when everything is plugged in and set to auto-recognize in the BIOS, the timings and voltages are not correct. The BIOS reports 5,5,5,18, when according to Newegg it should be 4,4,4,12, and the BIOS reports 1.83V for the RAM when according to Newegg it should be 2.1V.

The machine gets IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD's after the Vista install step where it requires a restart and Windows is loading...right at that point it happens.

Manually setting the BIOS to 4,4,4,12 and 2.1V didn't seem to help...still BSOD'ing at this step in the loading process.

Memtest was run but not for a long time (going to be running that overnight tonight), but running it for ~15 mins yielded no errors.

Any thoughts/ideas as to what is wrong?

sounds like a bad hardware driver to me...you might be able to go into safe mode right after set up. hit F8 just before the moving bar shows up. have you already tried a reinstall?

Impossible!! Simply Impossible! Vista has no Bugs!! Its The Future!
</sarcasm>

seriously tho, can you get into windows at all? try running with just one stick. and download the updated chipset/vid card drivers
