Broken Xbox...mod??

A friend of mine has a broken xbox...one day it just decided to give him disc errors and cleaning, etc. doesn't help. So I'm buying it from him for $50. I'm going to try a new optical drive first (to see if it gets it working), but I'm thinking more along the lines of modding it. I am picking it up monday, so I don't know yet if a mATX mobo will fit in there.

Any ideas?
 
yeah a mini itx will fit in there. I saw this guy do it before, its pretty cool, but if your gonna do that, might as well just get a solderless mod chip 40$, a nice hard drive75$, a new dvd rom drive from ebay for like 30$ brand new. After all that is running, you will have a kick ass xbox with xbox media center, old nice roms, copied games etc, it will also be cheaper and less of a hassele than building a computer inside of it... :)
