Broken temp sensor?

I have a friend with an XP 2000+ on a Gigabyte GA-7VT600. The proc fan is a Titan... don't know exactly what number, but with a full copper radiator. After 10-15 minutes the tempterature indicated in BIOS reaches 65 degrees Celsius. That is an awfully high value in idle... or so I say... The system however is stable even after a couple of hours in full load. Oh... I should say that all it wasn't overcloaked at all... all default settings.
My only guess is that the temperature sensor is wrong... broken... what do you think?
