Broken SATA power cable

I have an Antec Neo Eco 620W PSU and I was being clumsy and broke one of the SATA power cables. For now I just covered up the broken area with electrical tape and am continuing to use the system fine. Would having a screwed up connector do any harm to a PSU? Is there anyway to repair them? The plastic on one of the sides of the connector is what broke off, the rest of the connector seems ok.

Since it's only the platic connector, and you used tape to cover it, there should be no issues. The important part is to make sure the electrical contacts are not hitting each other or anything else in the case.

You can probably repair them, but that would mean buying a new SATA connector, taking that one off, and putting the new one on. I'm not sure how feasible this is.

Yeah, the system has been running flawlessly. This broken SATA power connector is on a wire with 2 other SATA power connectors. If I use a splitter on one of the two other connectors to get 3 usable connectors again, I should be able to use all 3 connectors fine right? Would there be any loss of performance from the PSU or any deviation from its original specs? I'm thinking there shouldn't be since the number of connectors in use on the wire should be the same but I'm not certain.

No, you can add splitters to both of those SATA connectors and there still will be no difference.

Hmm ok, sounds good. I guess I won't even bother repairing that connector then if the current solution doesn't reduce the capability/quality of the PSU. It will just remain taped up and I'll use 1 splitter.
