I recently purchased a new and longer printer wire. Inoticed after using the cord for a while, it didn't work quite right, it printed correctly only like 30% of the time. I then plugged the old one in and everything was fine.

Any ideas on what my problem is?

You could check the newer cable for bent pins, damaged areas along the cable, etc. It would help if you for more detailed in what you mean by a printer "wire". Is it USB or parallel?

Parallel cables are pretty strong, so check for bent pins. It's also possible the cable just plain went bad.

well i guess i was wondering if i had a wrong cable i mean i know there is like IEEE 1264? Parallel. and like one more. are these all the same or....?
