Broadwell E to work on X99...Xeons?

E7 Xeons are a different socket. 2011-1 and 2011-3 are not interchangeable even if they have the same number of pins. Only E5-46xx (quad socket) chips will fit X99 boards when it comes to higher end CPUs.

Broadwell E makes sense for people who have thermal limits. I.E. Data Center Servers or servers that have limited cooling or run full load 24/7.

True enough, but that is not a product that's of any interest to high-performance desktop users looking for a 140W furnace of framerate fun.

Broadwell E allows you to get 10 cores vs 8 with a 140 watt envelope. Not sure how that doesn't meet peoples needs for HEDT. Plus room to overclock.

No because it's a 10 core on a 140w package.

....its unlocked because it is a E processor so TDP is irrelevant....assuming you can cool it. It is a simple fact that Broadwell will give more performance per watt than haswell so there is plenty of reasons to get it.

It's kinda funny (in a cool way) to see people get this fired up over computer hardware. :)
