Has anybody used it? What's the verdict? Tom's didn't do any gaming testing to see if the device had any effect on ingame ping....

Never heard of it. Get a D-Link Gamer Lounge Router for the price. It will have Gigabit ethernet and Wireless for about $50 more and it will certainly help ping times.
