Brink

eh. not really. looks alright. I wish they had a demo out for it

I watched all of the videos also. It is good in theory. I hope the final version equals the theory.

Splash Damage is usually awesome. I'm excited for this, I haven't been able to get a concrete release date though. The Wiki and Steam did show Q1 at one point last year but now that's changed and Q1 is coming to an end...

Wiki, Amazon, GameStop and Best Buy all show May 17th, 2011.

Because May 17th is the official date. Anyone who likes shooters with extended tactics should be looking into this game. It offers more than any other shooter has. Dress up doll, parkour, weapon mods, classes, body size, experience, story, objective maps. Dress up doll customizes outfits, colors, tattoos, face, voice. Parkour will add mobility and make maps more interesting. The character classes are required for particular map goals, it's not a weapon load out; any class can take any weapon.

If you have the attention span to read this compendium, you'll preorder the game when you're through. http://www.fragworld.org/frag/brink/the-fragworld-brink-compendium.html

I'm very excited for this. Many people at PAX East seemed to really enjoy playing the demo there.

I can't wait to play Brink - it's probably my most anticipated game of 2011 just because it looks like it should be the perfect lan party game. Been at the top of my Steam wish-list for several months now. :D

Can't wait for this game. Love Wolfentstein Enemy Territory, and from the looks, Splash Damage is going back their roots with Brink.

I keep getting this game mixed up with that other one, Rage, or something - the one with the pretty graphics.

Maybe KillZone 3 you mean? Because that's the other one that won't have any difference between crysis and brink.

I like how on the interview video he's like "With the splashdamage the team that made quakewars" which is awful. I tried to play quake wars I really did. The balanicng was just garbage.

Don't remember what it was that made me take a serious look at Brink last week as I have been kind of avoiding watching anything on it. After seeing some of the footage, I pre-ordered. Seems like it could be extremely fun.

Wonder if they can afford a media blitz to build up some hype for this....

Still on the fence for this one though =(

Yep Brink and Diablo 3 are the only games on my must play list so far this year.

Says who?

I think it's pretty damned good so far myself.

I have hopes for Brink. I think it's going to be really good.

Says me. I played the first one and that was gash. Played Warhead and that was also gash. Played the demo for C2 and that was also gash.

Crytek can make cool engines, but can't make decent games.

I wasn't sure what gash meant at first until I finished reading your whole post. ;)

I always had fun with the Crysis games myself. Obviously YMMV. I've certainly played better FPSs but they're fun. They deliver the goods I'm looking for. I'm pretty happy with part 2 myself. :)

But like I said in another thread and you prove the point: If someone liked part 1 they'll like part 2 at least as much if not more and I daresay: Someone that didn't care about the first ones isn't going to care about this, either. Nothing there for them.

NO IT'S BAD

You have to remember this is an internet messageboard, everyone's opinions are indisputable fact.

I'm cautiously optimistic on this one - it could be good, but since this will be multiplayer in focus it will need to absolutely nail the controls and balancing.

I have complete faith in Splash Damage though, so hopefully Brink will be a winner.

"Self Resurrection" kinda sucks. But it looked like there is a good delay before the guy can shoot again so it might not be too bad.

I hope you realize that because you say it is, it doesn't make it true. As someone that played over 400 hours in Quake Wars, the problem with the game was far from being the balance. In fact, gameplay wise, the game is extremely solid. Unfortunately most people seem to prefer point and shoot, deathmatch and CTF, other than true team based games. And so, Quake Wars wasn't really popular.

I ARE TEH TRUTH!!!

LOL, will it even have LAN support?
