Win 8 and 10 have an option for a quick shutdown and boot.

If it is turned on you can hit the power button and the system will power off faster and boot faster.

Or if you use the start menu and click shutdown it is the same old full shutdown.
 
Something you can try -- I am told it works with the unofficial win 10 driver for some creative cards that have the exact same behaviour.

After doing the install and giving everything time to write to disk and close apps and all that, turn off the computer with the power switch on the back.

For some reason this is supposed to fix that issue - at least with the driver.

You could try the fast shutdown too and see if it saves the files differently.
