Brand compatibilities with RAM?

I have a ABIT IC7 motherboard, P4 2.4Ghz, and one stick of Corsair 512MB PC3200 RAM. (and a bunch of other stuff too)

Is it safe to mix this RAM with RAM of another brand? I found a deal on two 256MB sticks of Kingston PC3200 RAM, will this be compatible with my current RAM?

Also, what would be better for performance? One 512 stick and two 256 sticks, or just two 512 sticks?

BTW, I'm not looking to overclock anything really.

Two 512MB sticks hands down. For best performance two sticks of 512MB in dual channel will kill 2 x 256MB and one 512MB. You should be safe mixing the RAM, but you may encounter problems running in dual channel mode. You'll get the best performance when both sticks of RAM are as close in specifications as possible.

sorry to bother, but could someone please answer my last question?

thank you XD
