Boxen working but not folding

EM3 monitors 4 boxen remotely for me. All four are in the same building. Currently 3 of them are not folding for some reason. I noticed they all have the same protein number: 393. All have a blue circle with a number out to the side. EM3 is connected to these boxen but it's as if all 3 stopped downloading and processing. They have been in this suspended state for a couple days now. The fourth box is running like a champ. Any ideas what might be going on?

I believe the blue circle means they haven't uploaded their results yet. Maybe the server they need is busy or down? You can check the winfah log to see which server they came from.

This is a copy from the last log entry of one of them:

[15:40:39] + Attempting to get work packet
[15:40:39] - Connecting to assignment server
[15:40:40] - Successful: assigned to (171.64.122.133).
[15:40:40] + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home
[15:40:40] Loaded queue successfully.
[15:40:41] + Could not connect to Work Server
[15:40:41] - Error: Attempt #91 to get work failed, and no other work to do.
Waiting before retry.

Is there anything I can do to expedite this?

firewall problem?
I was going to suggest the same thing. Check to see if you now have a proxy/firewall/whatever that could be getting in the way.

All four boxes are behind the same firewall. There have been no recent firewall changes. The fourt box is running like a champ but it is configured a bit different.

It looks like it's getting to the assignment server just fine, but fails when trying to get a WU. The server status page says that your assignment server is running just fine.

You can check the server status here. http://vspx27.stanford.edu/serverstat.html
It appears that you were sent to server 133. Look on the list, and as of now, it's up. You could try restarting the client on the various machines. They try to resend the completed work unit upon restart.

Otherwise, I'd guess a firewall problem. Which OS are you using? If you're using XP SP2, check the firewall settings.

If all else fails, you could delete everything except for the FAH504-client.exe and client.cfg and start over....Yeah, you'll lose the work, but at least you might be productive again.

Another idea is to go into the work folder on each machine, and delete all the files not associated with the current or queued WUs. EM3 sometimes gets confused if there's extra stuff in that folder.

I was just over on the F@H forum and the admins were saying that at this time there are no more timeless WUs available. I switched my two timeless boxes to normal and they have both been able to get new WUs. Are the boxes timeless?

I've been having this trouble a lot over the past month. I haven't found many cures beyond stopping and starting the process when it happens. That always seems to work, but it is a PITA.

I've been having the trouble with both timeless and not timeless units. It seems that the server redirect is a little flawed.

All 3 of these boxes in question are set to " 2 = Time Limitless Work Units " The box that works perfectly is NOT set to timeless.

From my earlier quote:

[15:40:39] + Attempting to get work packet
[15:40:39] - Connecting to assignment server
[15:40:40] - Successful: assigned to (171.64.122.133).

[15:40:41] + Could not connect to Work Server
[15:40:41] - Error: Attempt #91 to get work failed, and no other work to do.

Looks like molson3530 is right. How do I switch my boxes to normal at this point?

run the client again with the -configonly tag and under advance options select no to the question asking about deadlines.

7/18/2006 Network switch over today at 11am Pacific Time. We will be switching over networks on some machines today at 11am PST, so you may notice some FAH servers down briefly. Notably the main AS and web server will need to be switched, so stats may be delayed for a while.

This is prob why the server is not accepting WU's

Also there are no tinker wu avaliable atm.

flatout

Ok thanks for heads up, I'm unable to send my last completed unit, nor receive new units, same thing, I've always been folding tinkers on timeless.
Got error "server has no record of unit" to be sent, and the same error as posted earlier on receive. Running linux client here as well. Will reconfig and see If I can at least get folding again.
I had been wondering after checking the website and seeing that the servers it was attempting to connect to were fine.

Just a follow up, after doing the reconfig the box is happily chewing on a gromacs.
