ok guys, excuse my nóòbness... I am building my 1st comp: Pentium D 930 with stock fan+heatsink, and a micro atx ECS P4M800PRO-M V1.0A mobo (using it temporarily).
I am so frustrated with installing the stock cpu heatsink, no matter how much pressure i put on the 4 fasterners, i just can't punch them all in securely w/o poping them back up. I am not sure if my mobo can hold any more pressure, but every time i got one pressed down completely, the diagonal fasterner just pops back out...
Can someone gimme some advice and tell me what i did wrong? :(
PS. I still have the mobo on a removable mobo tray from my case

I remember installing it on my friends motherboard and I had to push down like a sonofabitch but they eventaully all held and it does a pretty nice job with cooling for a stock cooler.

the thermal paste is all messed up now, not really even i think.... and i still can't press them all in  grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!

That was the easiest heatsink I've ever put on , you just push and rotate the pins.
