got it today, swapped into it tonight. it is a RAIDMAX "cobra", the front has two eye looking led panels, that glow blue. it has 5 fans total including psu fan, and the side panel has an emblem similar to a tattoo i have, and glows orange.

it has two front usb ports, but i cannot use them because my m/b doesnt have anywhere to hook up there wires, and grounds.

okay, three things:

1. welcome to the [H] forum.

2. posting pics of hardware are a must. no ifs, ands or buts.

3. did I mention that posting pics is mandatory? :D

-okay, that should be it for now... :p

figured id post, then link into it, but you beat me to it, so here:

and here it is in action:

wow a pic of a premod in a case modding forum, amazing

:p j/k

zero, like i said, one reason i bought this case is because the grill resembles a tattoo i have, so, no, not for sale lol

tech, sorry, didnt really see a "premod" forum. j/k :p

Well honestly, how much did you pay for that ugly piece of plastic? I just can't stand the look of those types of cases...they look like children's pc's.

actually, the only plastic on it, is the side window, and the front panel. and i paid 59 bucks for it.

and you, my friend, are a jackass.

If he likes it, fine. Let him like it.

QUESTION:
what is that 5.25 bay lookin deal on the top????

i am a TOTAL newbie to this whole thing, i have been fascinated by modding for quite sometime.

sorry i can't be as cool as everyone else, but i like how this case looks, and lights up.

if you search my measily posts, you will see that i was running a cpu temp of 140, in this case, i am at 86... i like it, and as was said, thats what matters.

btw, the "5.25 lookin thing" is a hp cd burner.

everything about my system is OLD, so if i want to have a new case, get off my back!

punx, THAT would be a slot cover that came in my "piece of plastic".

a hitachi dv-2000 replaced that, and as for the "old school hard drive", that came from a computer my boss gave me, to part out... i doubled my ram, and processor speed with the rest of that pc... AS I SAID, my stuff was/ is OLD!!!!!!!

even though some people "hate" it... i plan on painting it to match my car, which is a richer blue, and i also want to add in a digital temp control, and some other goodies,

"premod" or no, i will have fun with this thing as i learn.

That's what it's all about, friend.

i have successfully began to make this "my" computer. i could not stand the red/ orange lights that came with this thing, so... i went out and got this:

bluefan.gif

i also am planning alot of "look good" mods, including rounded ide cables, a couple of cathode lights, and whatever else i can find.

GOD, i cannot WAIT until i get a "real" computer to put in here.

i need a few pointers though, and if i need another thread, i will start one.
first, i want a fan controller, are there certain types of fans these work with, beacuse all the fans i have are the 4 pin power connectors from the psu, not the 3 pin that usually goes to the m/b.

next, i do hvac, and am kind of obcessed with temperatures, if i get one of those lcd displays, what type of probe does it have? does it sit there, or attach to the m/b in some fashion?

hey, premods are how i started...you start w/ a reasonable premod like you did, then start playing w/ it...replace parts here, make your own parts there, and suddenly it's a custom piece to rival anyone else's. So keep going, sounds like it'll be cool when you're done playing with it.
Who's going to do the painting on the case? are you doing it, or are you taking it to an automotive-type paint shop? show pics when it's done!

the paint is a long way off, but i will be doing all the painting myself, as i do on my car parts.

it seems as though everyday i am learning tid-bits of information, and picking up pointers from pics on here. now, if only i can come up with a good theme.

We all start somewhere, as time goes on you always learn more and will find yourself trying more and more complicated mods. Sounds like half of these guys around here forget how things used to be. Ill take that cobra case over any one of those ugly Beige cases im sure alot of us started with.

So mod the hell out of that thing.

dont worry about what other peopel think about your case...if you like thats fine. :p
BINGO!!

I think it looks fairly cool actually.

But I would get it off the floor but that's me. Got any modding plans for it?

if your temp obsessed, take some wire cutters and cut out the rear grills restricting airflow, as for a fan controller vantec nexus are the best

all of these glow blue, nice accomidation to the case even though the door will hide them

Can we see some pics of your painted car parts? (Maybe start a thread in automotive to avoid a self-threadjack:p)

thanks for the links, i was checkin out the 3.5 ones, quite nice actually.

i will post another thread with my car parts, and link to it here.

i do want it off the floor, but have to come up with something to help me out, as i dont have many options right now.

as for mods, fan controller, temp display, media reader, wire cleanup, uv reative wires/lighting, and some other things are first on my list.

I love Raidmax Cases (as far as Pre-modded cases go) but I think their cobra series is just down right ugly.

there fan colors are not always the best match..the cobra looks nice in the dark when the fans match but i could do without the bottum front grill...but this case is definatly worth $50..if you mess it up not much of a loss either

i mean i am a TOTAL newbie at this whole modding thing, but i mod cars, i mod heating/air systems, why not a computer...

this case has room for 7 fans... it came with two in the back, one on the side, and two on the psu. the side one didnt match, which brings us to now, THEN...

i took apart two old psu's, they had 80mm fans in them... i spliced the wires into 3pin m/b connectors, and i now have two MORE fans, for a total, of 8, one more than the case accomidates, but i sat one on my video card, to cool my processor, any risks here?

like was said, it was only 50 bucks, and if that 50 can save me thousands in learning time, im all for it!!!

***side note, i am in need of a FLAT panel temp, fan display... as my cover will hit any pertruding buttons.

um can you tell us how much space you have in between the door and anything tht sticks out of the bays

the areocool is mostly competly flat, and the enermax only has 2 little nobs which shouldnt hit the door

i have less than a half inch, as my panel has speacers to stop it. i would imagine a "pushbutton" tyoe, like on a car radio, would work... or flat touch buttons...?

the areocool will work but ive never seen the enermax in person so i couldnt tell you the length on the fan knobs, areocool eliminates that by useing a wheel type thingy
