I just bought a 6600GT (should be here Monday), and i was wondering if im missing any steps in correctly upgrading drivers and what not instead of reformatting and reinstalling WinXP.

Step
1. Run Drivercleaner before installing the 6600GT video card.
2. Remove Geforce 3 TI 500, then insert 6600GT card and make sure power is connected to the molex of the video card.
3. Install newest NVIDIA video card drivers. Restart PC.
4. Install newest NFORCE drivers. Restart PC.

That should do it, right... anything im missing?

install the chipset drivers first(incase there was an AGP driver update), then uninstall the old drivers (might not be that important, GF3 and GF6 use the same drivers. but do it anyways), turn off, insert new card, turn on, install new drivers.
