Hi guys,
So here's my current system
Core I7 860
Asus P7P55 Deluxe
4gb DDR3 Corsair Dominator 1600mhz
Asus GTX260.

I do some light gaming sometimes (Crysis WH and Call of Duty)
I wonder what is my currently bottleneck for future coming games? Crysis 2 perharps?

What component should I upgrade and which is a good alternative? (I have 2 things in mind: upgrade to 8gb ram or upgrade the graphic card
I am thinking of Asus HD5850 but I prefer Nvidia for personal taste, if someone can convice me not to spend money on a GTX470 (I know heat and power consumption are ridiculous high) so my logical person try to say to go for the HD5850. but I need someone else to convice me that the hd5850 is more reliable than the GTX470.

Upgrading your ram to 8gigs would be pointless. Do what I did, sold my 260 for $140 on the forums here, bought a Sapphire HD5850 for $320, which came with CoD MW2. So altogether, 320 - 140 = 180, and then if you count the game (not that I would ever buy it) comes to 120. Good deal for a great card.

My HD5850 idles between 29-31C, max i've seen is 71C if I have one monitor on. I just recently bought 2 more monitors for Eyefinity, which is major bad ass, and worth it if you have some money burning a hole in your pocket. It idles around 32-35 with all the other monitors on which is still running cooler then my 260 did. :D Right now, the card's fan is only set to 20%, so can't hear it at all.

So, the 470 wouldn't be able to do any of that. I was a long time Nvidia buyer, since the 7600GS. I was hesitant to go ATI this time, but damn I wish I got one sooner.

I was playing some HL2 tonight, I averaged 300FPS lol. It's an older game, I know, but it ran like butter. :D I see around 100 FPS in BC2 with High settings, 16x AA, and no HBAO on bigger fights, lowest around 50-55.

I get the Display Port cable tomorrow for Eyefinity, I will post some pictures up of what ATI has been able to do since launch, and Nvidia has yet to release.

Seriously, you will like the 5850/70.

I am a casual gamers and I still can play games at the 2nd high texture quality since I cant tell the difference between highest and 2nd high mode.
So do you think the GTX260 still can handle games for a while???

I doubt upgrading the gpu will help; the main bottleneck for playing Crysis 2 will be its poor gameplay :p

For Crysis 1, however, it is the video card -- especially if you're playing at a high (1920x1080 or greater) resolution with high/ultra high/maxed out visual settings.

So here are the prerequisite questions:

- Which monitor are you using? Which resolution?
- Which level of visual quality do you prefer?
- Are FPS games the ones you play most often? How often?

But I agree with King Icewind that you don't need more RAM for greater performance.

I am running it with an Dell E228WFP (selling) at 1680x1050 , but I am thinking about new monitor this summer. (probably 24inch with full HD)
I prefer at least 2nd highest setting.
I play FPS games when it first came out for 3 weeks, and dont bother about playing it online.
