replaced cpu/mobo, everything else was the same.

everything was fine, reformatted, went to windows etc. Had to open case to plug in a usb wire, so i turned everything off and did so, now it will not boot up at all. nothing happens when i push the power switch on the mobo or case.

any ideas? also how can i test a powersupply quickly and easily?

you tried disconnecting all the power cables except for the atx power connector and trying to juice the system? sometimes a bad component can short a psu.

does the PSU smell funny, like ozone?
easiest way to check a psu, sadly, is to power it and check the rails in the BIOS or some monitoring tool.
