its even possible to install windows from a flash drive!

I was starting to think a week would go by without this question. Hmm. It is somewhat possible, but you wouldn't want to, because the performance would be horrible...and you'd also drastically shorten the life of your flash drive. You can boot to DOS from a USB drive.

In the Windows world, it is a bit difficult, because you don't really have a full control how the ram cache work. Also, once you created a Windows flash OS, you cannot run Windows Update. Look into Bartpe if you really want to do this. Bartpe is really good for fixing broken Windows PC.
