Ive just installed Mandriva on my Athlon64 rig to explore Linux for the first time. I ve installed it and imdeiately after install i tried it out. After that i rebooted i went to windows for a while then shutdown. Now when i go to boot Mandriva, it goes therough a graphical system check, and then to command prompt.

How do i get it to the GUI like before?

Thnx in advance

can you login at the command prompt?

if you can can you use a command "startx" this will try to start the Xserver/GUI

If you cant well there is some other problems
If you can then it is a simple case of enabling X by default (runlevel 5 as opose to runlevel 3)

Wow, thanks a lot dude! :D

I knew it was a simple case of ___, but im new to this. Speaking of Im-new-to-this:

how do you enable X by default?
