Booting from CD for win xp 64bit

OKay, I burned 3 cd's because i was desperate to get it to boot from the cd, its been my experience, that burning windows as an iso usually boots from cd.

However this time it didn't, so i burned raw files on one also, and also burned the bin and cue files. NOTE: none of these worked.

I have set the bios boot priorities to cd rom 1st, and i've tried getting it to boot to cd via the boot menu, so it spins up then it ignores the cd and boots back to windows.

The os I am trying to install is Windows 64 bit. If anyone has any ideas please let me know!
 
I know the images on Microsoft's 64bit CTP download page are bootable, so I'd try the following...

Try a different burner (if you have access to one),
Try booting from a different CD drive (if you have one),
download the image from Microsoft again, perhaps the one you have is currupt.
 
You might also try a different brand of media.
It should be bootable. Mine is.
 
I had to download those images three times. For some reason, I got a bad download. IIRC they publish the MD5 sum for the image. Take the ISO you downloaded, obtain a MD5 checking program (its open source) and compare the iso MD5-sum to the published MS md5 sum. If its different, re-download the image.

They may have this ironed out now, but when I snagged it (July 28, 2004) this was a known issue.
