boot up problem, please help

hi, recently i have been getting this problem very frequently and now it happens EVERY time i try to boot up.

during a normal boot up, i turn on my comp and monitor, then the comp will make a beep sound and my monitor comes alive.

however, now when i turn on my comp and monitor, it will make a rapid succession of 3 beeps, then my monitor will turn blank and the green light on the monitor will blink on and off.

please help, anyone whats wrong? this thing is driving me crazy.
 
Yeah, check the beep codes, but IIRC (and I don't really remember these things), I believe that's the "video card has a problem" beep. I'd just try reseating it for starters. That normally does the trick, especially if it has happened before and has come back.
 
hi all, just an update. it turned out that it was a video card problem. i got a brand new video card and it solved everything
