I've recently been having a boot problem with my computer. Every other time I start up my computer it will go through all the bios and stuff, then take a really long time at the welcome screen. Then it will load up the wallpaper, but thats it, no icons or any sign of explorer. It'll just sit there. Yes I have checked the Task Manager to see if explorer is running, and it is. Does any one know what could be wrong?
 
YES ...i am having the same problem with starting up my comp...i can't go into bios ...cuz it skips the setup page and goes straight to the load page for windows xp ....i'm trying to reformat but idk how to when i can't go into bios and change so that my comp boots from the cd rom .....
 
i have the same problem, but i've managed to get things working by ending explorer.exe and starting a new instance of the program. this still takes a couple of minutes for the icons/taskbar to appear though, and it's annoying. plus, all the history from the "run" box is gone each time. is there anyone out there who can fix this?
