Ok, I have a computer that gives that error (BOOT FAILURE: SYSTEM HALTED). I went into to bios, and altho it was detecting the harddrive, there were several problems:
- The harddrives name was !!4TDBLAHBLAH:) yes, there was a smiley face after its name :/ in the bios... But when i went to another menu that you selected the harddrive to boot from, the harddrive was not appearing

After resetting the settings and changing random settings several times and rebooting many times it then reappeared, and the system booted fine and would restart. But then I turned out off, and turned it back on, and the harddrive was not back to not showing up in the booting HD list, but this time it was even harder to get it back (required more random settings changed etc)!

What do you think it can be?

Probably the Jenna Jameson virus, with the Ron Jeremy hack.

Actually scan for a boot sector virus, and reset the CMOS.

any good?

Flash the BIOS.

any good?
